Contribute

Justice Everywhere is a blog which publishes short articles which help to shed light on contemporary issues and enduring philosophical debates. We invite contributions from academics, students, and others who share our interests and our belief in making philosophy accessible and relevant.

You can submit a one-of piece, or join our team of regular contributors. If you have any questions, please get in touch at justice.everywhere.blog [at] gmail.com

Blog formats

We publish a number of different types of blogs on Justice Everywhere. The list below offers an overview of the most common types. If you’d like to do something different, however, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Extended posts: our usual format of circa 800-1,000 words

Announcements: we do not want to overload the website with this material, but it can certainly be used to advertise events any of us are holding.

  • Call for Papers for a conference
  • Job announcements

Research interviews: for example, with authors about recent publications or research projects.

Responses to news: Our standard extended posts should ideally relate to or engage with political developments, social issues etc. However, there are a number of additional ways in which we can discuss the news on Justice Everywhere:

  • Taking a prominent news story and identifying a key moral thread within it / offering quick normative comments on it
  • Identifying two or three recent news stories through which there is a common moral concern or simply placing together a few prominent bits of news for comment
  • Getting a number of contributors to write a brief comment on a particular news story, where each contributor writes a short paragraph or two. For example, see our Philosophers’ Rundown on the COVID-19 crisis.

Series/themes: essentially the blog equivalent of a special issue – have a collection of posts around a common theme. It helps to have these fairly well organised in advance to avoid non-deliveries, but they can easily be made to work. For example, see our recent series of posts on Fatigue.
